One platform, your control.
The same deterministic engine runs as managed cloud, in your private VPC or on-premise in your co-location facility. You choose where it runs and keep control of your flow, your data and your latency budget.
Deployment options
Choose where the platform runs.
Managed cloud
The fastest route to live. Darkpools provisions and runs the environment for you.
- Provisioned and operated by Darkpools
- No infrastructure to build
- Suited to institutions that want to start quickly
Private VPC
The platform runs inside your own cloud account, under your network and access controls.
- Runs in your cloud environment
- Your network policies apply
- Data stays in the region you choose
On-premise
The platform runs in your own facility or co-location site, next to your other trading systems.
- Full control of hardware and network
- Lowest-latency placement
- Suited to the strictest data-residency needs
Architecture
Built on three principles.
Deterministic core
A single-writer matching engine with reproducible sequencing. Every execution replays to the microsecond for surveillance and dispute resolution.
Isolated by design
Your pool, keys and books never share a tenant. Network isolation and data residency map to your jurisdiction and internal policy.
Open interfaces
Route flow over FIX 4.2–5.0, and manage configuration, surveillance and reporting through a documented REST and streaming API.
Integration
How the platform fits into your stack.
The platform is designed to sit alongside the systems you already run, not replace them. Order flow arrives over standard FIX sessions from your order and execution management systems. Reference prices come from your market-data feed. Executions go out to clients and to compliance, and settlement instructions go to your custodians and depositories.
Configuration, surveillance and reporting are available through a documented API, so your own tools can read from and drive the platform without screen-scraping or manual exports.
Order flow in
From client desks and your order management system
Market data in
NBBO reference prices for midpoint and peg calculation
Executions out
Reports to clients, plus drop-copy to compliance
Settlement instructions out
To connected custodians and CSDs
Configuration and reporting
Read and control the platform from your own tools
Security and control
You keep ownership of your flow and your data.
Single-tenant by design
Each client has its own pool, keys and books. Nothing is shared with another institution.
Data residency
Choose the environment and region where your data lives, to match your jurisdiction and policy.
Network isolation
Deploy inside your own network boundary, with your own access controls.
Accountability
Administrative actions and trading activity are recorded in the same immutable audit trail.
Technology, not a venue.
Darkpools provides the software. You operate the venue, hold the client relationships and carry the regulatory permissions. The platform is built so that this division is reflected in how it is deployed, with your data and your controls on your side of the line.

Getting live
From first conversation to production.
Onboarding is run by the same engineers who build the platform. We start by understanding your flow, your counterparties and your existing systems, then configure the engine to match how you want your venue to behave.
Nothing goes live until you have tested it against your own scenarios, and we stay engaged after launch for support and upgrades.
Scope
Your instruments, flow, counterparties and systems
Connect
FIX sessions, market data and custodian links configured
Test
Your own scenarios, run end to end before go-live
Go live
Production launch, followed by ongoing support
Common questions
About the platform.
Where is our data stored?
In the environment you choose. With a private VPC or on-premise deployment it stays inside your own infrastructure and region. With managed cloud, the region is selected to match your data-residency requirements.
Can we run the platform on-premise?
Yes. The platform can be deployed in your own facility or co-location site, which is also the lowest-latency option because it sits next to your other trading systems.
Which protocols does it support?
Native FIX 4.2 to 5.0 for order routing, execution reports and drop-copy, plus a documented REST and streaming API for configuration, surveillance and reporting.
Do we need to replace our existing systems?
No. The platform is designed to connect to your existing order and execution management systems, market-data feeds, custodians and depositories. The specifics are scoped in a technical briefing.
Who supports the platform after go-live?
The Darkpools engineering team stays involved after launch for support, upgrades and new capabilities. Support arrangements depend on the deployment model you choose.
